FRR Open house build thread (Pre Open House 818 Pics!)

The guys are working hard getting ready for Open House and its cool to see the 818 production start up. 24 months ago, we had sketches and a design contest. Today, after a tremendous amount of work, we are building an all-new car. Can't wait to show you guys our best work at Open House on Saturday.

Engineer Dan M. assembles the 818S for Open House.

What seats are those? They look like Subaru seats but they don't match my 05 WRX seats...

    Hi RM1SepEx,

I believe those are GTM seats which is an option for the 818

    Do I spy a set of RPF1's? 17's?
Can someone take a gazillion pictures of this thing this weekend? I'm loving the white. The production panels look great, and i like the gill update a lot. fitment around the headlights looks tidier too. It looks fantastic!

    Is this a NA build?

Love the "weight is the enemy" sign... :P

Wow white looks really nice. I'm surprised since I wasn't impressed with the red and felt like darker colors would work better. This whole thing is just so well done and this company is so impressive.

I like! Very nice changes to the front openings, the headlight fit and no holes through the hood. I'll add hinges and a latch, somehow, to my hood.
But hey, was the "Weight is the Enemy" sign intended for my beer gut?
Wish I could be there for the Open House!!

No question which one to open first!

It does look quite good in white. Ahh! I can't wait! Someone should get a tripod and take pics of the car from 2' off the ground all the way around, then link the photos in a flash player so you can click and drag left/right to spin the car.

The Canon DSLR is going in the bag for the trip, and I'll get some HDR tips from my son before heading out. It shoots video too so I'll get some of that as well.

I'll overload you guys with car porn when I get back.

I really like the look of the faux brake cooling vents this car is now displaying. I'm assuming that the smaller functional vent slots are still hiding under the spiffy plastic covers. Will somebody get down close and have a peek during the open house? Of course, it could be that cutting out the vent slot will be something that is builder-optional.....

I love this line on the car (highlighted).
It reminds me of the BMW Z4, except instead of clumsily ending in the door handle, it integrates perfectly with the vent! One of my favorite design cues on the car!

Please Dave, post a million pics, I can't justify the trip with my two kids and my Godson in college. Also, please find a 6'3" 255 lb guy to put in the driver's seat. Long torso and ape long arms if possible. Thanks. .
