Stuck in Springfield, IL!! Help for clutch problem?

Saturday, MAY 4 - Hey is anyone near Springfield, IL with grinding tools and a jack? I have an exterior clutch slave cylinder which is not disengaging the clutch...thus I'm unable to put the car into ANY gear, can't drive it at all. Rode a tow truck flatbed to hotel in Springfield this evening. I THINK I know how to fix it after consulting with Mark Dougherty. I need a floor jack and jack stand/s, and a Dremel-type grinder or something more powerful to grind some clutch fork clearance into the QuikTIme bellhousing.

Aardvark and I are on our Route 66 Charity fundraising trip, going smooth and fun so far. This temporary setback came on a Saturday evening, hate to bother anyone on a Sunday!

Anyone available nearby? Text me at 561-252-9555 or respond here with contact info. Thanks!

I am not close enough to help with eyes or hands, but IMO the root cause here may be easier or harder to rectify. Metal part interference is unlikely to develop during 1200 miles of a road trip.
A clutch lever/fork or pivot may have failed, a malfunction typical on Subarus (818).
Next suspect would be the throw-out bearing or clutch actuation levers.

Suggest posting on the other site, if not done. Hate seeing a roadster trip get side lined.

I can't believe someone hasn't stepped up yet. I certainly would but I'm a little far away...

Just heard from John. He found a guy with a lift and appropriate tools and the issue has been rectified. They’re hitting the road again…wish them luck!

Made it to Tulsa, no tornado or storm problems. Clutch actuation repairs are perfect, love the shift again. Tomorrow meeting some old friends at Pop's in Arcadia, OK, and hope to make some new ones. Come on out if you are nearby, we're gonna be there about 11:30.
